Day 2- more like 3 days packed into one.

“In Uganda. Tired describes this feeling.”

-That was Andrea’s facebook status update 4 hours ago. I don’t blame her for being tired, being that today she has already flown from London into in Nairobi, Kenya; then flown on into Entebbe Airport, Uganda….and now she is traveling immediately to Kawanda, Uganda to speak at a young women’s conference from 3-7pm! WHEW!

And I was complaining about being tired after moving my furniture into a storage unit yesterday!? Hello perspective. If anybody is up for this challenge though, it’s Andrea. I’m sure that she is feeling every emotion, every big of exhaustion after traveling such a long way- but I also know that when it comes to Andrea, God’s presence is fierce and His presence and strength is known. With every challenge that Andrea has ever faced, the underlying tone has always been that God is all up in her business. This is good news- being that today I know that He will provide her with everything she needs to be energized enough to minister at the young women’s conference.

Psalm 121 states,
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber…the Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”

I want to proclaim and pray this Psalm over Andrea today- as she travels through Uganda, as she speaks truth into young women’s lives in Kawanda, as she responds to the seeds that God planted in her heart months ago- He will be her helper as she speaks, loves, and ministers. He will be her protector making sure she leaves and arrives safely to all of her destinations.
And, might I add, how cool is it that we get to trust the Creator of the heavens with our dear friend Andrea? Very. Cool.

Andrea, we are all rooting for you and praying over your mission. You are the coolest cat around, and speaking as one who has also experienced Africa getting under her skin, I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of your journey on this end of the globe.

Signing out,

~Katy Ward:)
